I’m a Microsoft Regional Director – again!

Two weeks ago I received a nice confirmation email from Microsoft and finally I am allowed to share the news: My nomination for becoming a Microsoft Regional Director for Switzerland has been approved! That said, I am again part of a privileged group of approx. 160 people from around the globe that closely works with Microsoft to drive business and community engagements.

I was already part of this program from 2016-2018. The requirements to make it to this exclusive group are pretty tough because of the tech and business requirements, but then also because of the very limited amount of accepted program members.

The Regional Director Program provides Microsoft leaders with the customer insights and real-world voices it needs to continue empowering developers and IT professionals with the world’s most innovative and impactful tools, services, and solutions.

Established in 1993, the program consists of 160 of the world’s top technology visionaries chosen specifically for their proven cross-platform expertise, community leadership, and commitment to business results. You will typically find Regional Directors keynoting at top industry events, leading community groups and local initiatives, running technology-focused companies, or consulting on and implementing the latest breakthrough within a multinational corporation.

Many Microsoft Regional Directors also have a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) award – and so do I. But both programs are totally independent from each other – one membership does not qualify to get into the other program and vice versa. The official list of all worldwide Microsoft Regional Directors can be found here.

I am looking forward to another two years with lots of contributions, business and community engagements, exchange, learnings and fun! And of course to get back in contact with some old friends that are also/still part of this program 🙂

Cheers,
Marcel
