SCSM QuickVids for “SCSM 2012/2012R2 Authoring” – Video 3: Create a relationship and a type projection #SCSM

In this video we will extend the VSAE MP project with a relationship and a type projection. The “car” class will be extended with a relationship that will allow to assign a “driver” to car CIs. The type projection will be user to create a new view as well as a custom form (in a later video).

Hi Marcel. Thank you for sharing! I’m having a Challenge making a Enum list. When I create using Authoring Tool I can make it work. But when using VSAE I’m not able to save any value to the property. I actually see the list With the values I have made, and can Select one of them and click on Ok in the SR form (Extensions tab). But after reopening the Work Item the value is gone. VS does not report any errors when building the MP so I am a little lost right now. Any hint?

      Hey

I assume you create an enum list in the Authoring Tool and then seal the MP. After the import, you can see the list in the console and add values. IF you do this, you should be prompted to select a MP to store your values. This is because they cannot be stored in your sealed MP. If you update your MP afterwards, nothing happens to your list entries. However, if you do NOT seal your MP in the Authoring Tool, import the MP and start adding list entries, they are saved directly into the unsealed MP. If you update the orinigal MP (that does not hold your list entries) in the Authoring Tool and re-import the MP, the values are gone. In this case you should first export the MP from SCSM and edit this version in the Authoring Tool. However, the sealed approach maybe better is preferred.
